Dorothea Block was born in Norre Kongerslev, Denmark, April 14, 1867, and departed from this life at her home north of Bostwick, Sept. 1, 1944 at the age of 77 years, 4 months and 18 days.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Denmark. In the year 1889 she was united in marriage to Peter Block. To this union eight children were born. Together with her husband and children she came to this country in 1912. The family settled on a farm north of Bostwick and this has been her home ever since. Her husband preceded her in death in 1936.
She is survived by five sons, Andrew and Lawrence in Denmark, Julius and Peter near Bostwick, and Chris at Twin Falls, Idaho; three daughters, Mrs. Jens Jensen (Karen), Eugene, Ore., Mrs. Art Hanson (Christine), Abdal, and Mrs. P.E. Nielsen, Bostwick; fifteen grandchildren, two brothers, numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held from Bethel Lutheran church Tuesday at 2:30, Rev. J. H. Petersen in charge. Burial was at Evergreen cemetery.

The list below does not include Lawrence (Lauritz) who moved back to Denmark and is buried there.
