Grandaughter of Ollie and Oneda Dixon, named after Nedenia Marjorie Hutton aka Dina Merrill, American actress and socialite. Nedenia's grandfather Ollie worked for Dina Merrill for many years.

Nedina P. Pilson
If there was a book lying around, Nedenia P. Pilson was the first to pick it up
and start reading. She loved to cook and got new ideas from television cooking shows. She was a fan of cartoons and of animals, liked music and dancing, and was a shopaholic," said her aunt, Mattie E. Dixon. She was 42. "She had a heart of gold. She always thought of other people first," Ms. Dixon said. A caregiver and a "social butterfly," Ms. Pilson liked to make people happy and got along easily with everyone. Her female relatives considered her something of the resident hairdresser, so fond
was she of giving an impromptu hair-do. Ms. Pilson was born in Washington on
Feb. 2, 1961, to Curtis T. Pilson and the former Jacquolen Boler. She grew up with her grandmother, Oneda P. Dixon, and late grandfather, Ollie P. Dixon, in East Hampton. After graduating from East Hampton High School in 1979, Ms. Pilson moved to Manhattan to live with her mother. Never one to be content sitting in an office, Ms. Pilson took a job as a bus driver with the New York City Transit Authority. Although she lived in New York for more than 15 years, her connections to East Hampton remained strong. "She was very family oriented," Ms. Dixon said. In the 1990s she returned to live with her grandmother and aunt on Accabonac Highway. She drove a school bus for about a year. Ms. Pilson had been sick for several years. She died on April 17 in Riverhead. The family said the cause of death was unknown pending a medical report. In addition to her aunt and grandmother and mother, Ms. Pilson is survived by four sisters, Angeletta T. Pilson of Bridgehampton, Pamela R. Pilson of Fort Lee, N.J., Kathy Powell of Capital Heights, Md., and Kim Baran of San Diego. She also leaves a stepfather, Alan and I B. Glover, and a paternal grandmother, Evelyn Pilson of Martinsville, Va. Her father died several years ago. A funeral for Ms. Pilson was held on April 23 at the Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in Sag Harbor. She was buried at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in East Hampton. The East Hampton Star., May 08, 2003, Page 2
