Be it remembered, that on the 7th day of May A.D. 1894, there was issued from the Office of Probate Judge, a Marriage License, of which the following is a true copy:

MARRIAGE LICENSE -- Number: 606 -- Montgomery County, Kansas, May 7, A.D. 1894 -- any person Authorized by Law to Perform the Marriage Ceremony, Greeting: You are authorized to join in Marriage, James M. Beathe of Independence, Kansas, age: 21 years and Louise D. Shekkenberger, of Lormier, Kansas, at age 18 years and this license you will make due return to my office, within thirty days -- Seal: David Clines, Probate Judge.

And which said Marriage License was afterweards, to-wit: on the 11th day of May A.D. 1894 returned to said Probate Judge, with the following certificate endorsed thereon, to-wit: STATE OF KANSAS, COUNTY OF MONTGOMERY -- J. R. Evans, a minister of the gospel, hereby certify, that in accordance with the authorized of the within License, I did, on the 7th of May A.D. 1894 at Radical and said county join and unite in marriage, James M. Beathe and Louise D. Shellenberger -- Witness by my hand seal the day and year above written -- Signed: J.R. Evans -- Ateest: David Clines, Probate Judge.
