Mr Allred was born at St. Charles, Idaho October 5, 1885, and spent his boyhood days in Bear Lake county. In 1888 he married Miranda Nelson of Bloomington, Idaho. He leaves nine grandchildren.
When Mr. and Mrs. Allred came to Star Valley they settled in Fairview and started in the mercantile business, where they remained a number of years. They later moved to Afton and have been in the mercantile and hotel business since they came here.
They have suffered many reverses and hardships and loss by fire, ect., but have usually looked at the bright side of things, and started out again with renowned hope and courage.
Funeral services were held in the South ward chapel at Afton on March 5th, services being under the direction of Bishop Geo. Kennington.
The singing was furnished by the ward choir under the direction of Ernest Clark.
Mrs. Annie Hood an old time friend of the Allred family sang two selections, which were greatly appreciated.
President Clarence Gardner, Bp. Osborne Low, Horance Nield, George Hale and Bishop Geo. Kennington all spoke of the good work in the church done by Bro. Allred. They spoke of his clean life and the many important church offices he has held with honor in the Latter Day Saints Church.
