Born at Hagerstown, MD. Cadet at the U. S. Military Academy at West Point, graduating in the Class of 1825, as Second Lieutenant, 1st Artillery, U. S. Army. Promoted to First Lieutenant in 1835. Served in various posts thru 1836, when he was assigned to commissary duty in Charleston, SC where he died of consumption.
