John is my great grandfather and the father of Ray Nelson Gee. John was a bridge builder in the First Engineers Co., H.Civil War. He marched with General Sherman to the sea in Georgia. He was a carpenter worked in grist mill in Advance. He was married three times had three children with his first wife(Mary Ellen Neeley) they are:Alice Ann Gee, Kate Ida May Gee and John W.H. Gee. He had six children with his second wife (Elizabeth Geer)and they are: Claudia Buyrd Gee, Ira P. Gee, Edith Gee, Maruice L. Gee, Earl Eugene Gee and Ray Nelson Gee. He had a total of nine children. He Then married Charlotte Youens and they had no children.
