Graveside rites for Mrs. Adelaide Mings were held by Sam S. Frazier and George J.
Routh, local ministers. In 1856, she married W.C. Mings. He preceded her in death.
She was a pioneer citizen of the Lone Oak Community and died at the home of her son in Lone Oak. She came to Texas 92 years ago and had been a resident of the Lone Oak Community for 52 years. She professed faith 66 years ago and united with the Church of Christ. Survived by her children - Dr. M.D. Mings, Mrs.
E.C. Reynolds, Mrs. Johnnie Morris, Mrs. Alice Spencer, Mrs. Fannie Cook, G.D.
Mings, B.W. Mings, R.W. Mings, Mrs. Lizzie Heywood; one brother - J.B. Ragan; one sister - Mrs. Laura Merchant; 64 grandchildren; 88 great-grandchildren; more than 100 great-great-grandchildren.
