Of LDS pioneer stock from the areas of Bountiful and Tooele, UT, Letha Harrison was born in Kemmerer, WY, to Harold Roy Harrison (d. 1950) and Sarah Elizabeth Steele (d. 1966). She graduated as salutatorian from Salt Lake's Granite High in 1931. The Depression drew her family to Los Angeles, CA. She married William Walton Green in June 1935 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She raised her family in Arcadia, CA, where she served in numerous callings in her LDS ward (she was an insightful and influential teacher of the scriptures), as a leader in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and as a worker in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. After Bill Green died in 1989, Letha married (September 1990) Robert Rowden, who died in August 2001. Letha spent her last four years at Cove Point Retirement Facility in Provo, Utah, where she enjoyed friendships and her role as a visiting teacher.

Letha was predeceased by all her siblings (in birth order): Donald (1957), Ila (1974), Blanche (1932), Donna (1953), Harold (1979), Ruth (1988), and Von (1969); and her youngest daughter, Wendy (2004). She is survived by three children: David Harrison (md. to Rose Red Elk; Lawton, OK), Arnold Harrison (md. to Lanigene Handy; Orem, UT), and Laurel (md. to Dennis Barstow; Huachuca City, AZ); by 11 grandchildren; and by 20 great-grandchildren. All of her descendants treasure their memory of her as a devoted, loving parent, as a wise counselor, and as an example of spirituality and service.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. (preceded by a viewing during 10-10:45) on Saturday, 6 September 2008 at Walker Mortuary, 85 East 300 South, Provo, UT.
Interment will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Whittier, CA, on Tuesday, 9 September 2008.
