George Leslie Atwell, 56, of 1105 N. Oates St, died early today at his home after a long illness.
He was born in Jackson Co, FL, but had lived in Dothan for the past 13 years. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church at Ardilla.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, tomorrow, in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. J.T. Hagler, J. Fred Stephens, and John A. Sanders officiating.
Burial will be in the Dothan City Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home directing.
Surviviors include his wife, Mrs. Lena V. Atwell, of Dothan, a daughter, Mrs. Tyree Murdock, of Malone, a son, Leslie Wilborn Atwell, of Jacksonville, FL, a sister, Mrs. Dessie Mae Statler, of Jacksonville, FL, three brothers, T.L. (Bud) Atwell of Bascom, FL, C.M. Atwell, of Bascom, FL, and H.C. Atwell of Jacksonville, FL, and six grandchildren.
