Clayton-Mrs. Muriel B. Comins,83, widow of Raymond Comins,Sr, Clayton,Route 2, Outer State Street, was found dead early Thursday afternoon at her apartment residence at the home of her daughter-in-law,Mrs. Raymond Comins Jr.,by her daughter-in-law,who investigated when Mrs. Comins failed to arise at her usual time.
The funeral for Mrs. Comins,a former Watertown resident,will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Cummings Funeral Home,Clayton,Rev. Janet Reynolds,paster,Clayton United Methodist Church,officiating. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
She is survived by three sons, James C.,Oakfield, Chester L.,Flagstaff,Ariz.,and Clyde B., 135 E. Hoard St., Watertown;two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Hilda) Klock,139 E. Hoard St.,Watertown, and Mrs. Joseph (Helen) Messina,Ogdensburg; a sister Mrs. Carl (Genevieve) Reynolds,North Adams; and two brothers,Clyde Bamford, Brownville and Hiram Bamford, Skyline Apartments, Watertown. A son, Raymond W. Comins,Jr.,died July 24,1967 at the age of 52 years.
Born Feb.28,1889,on Wolfe Island,Ont., daughter of Wells and Evelyn Joslyn Bamford. she came to the United States as a young girl and attended Watertown schools. She was married to Raymond Comins,Dec.28,1910,in Watertown.
Mr. and Mrs. Comins had lived in Watertown and Clayton several years and had also resided near Batavia and operated a farm near Constableville. Mr. Comins was also a teacher and school principal. He died Jan.19,1967,in Watertown at the age of 80 years. The couple was living at Skyline Apartments at that time.
