Beaufort Icon. Raised in Philadelphia, as a young man Tony worked with the CCC on a number of projects. After service in the USMC in World War II where he saw combat action in the Pacific he was a Beaufort City Policeman before returning to the Marine Corps, seeing combat in Korea and subequently retiring after 20 years. Tony ran his own realty company in Beaufort for many years, worked Civil Service at MCAS Beaufort, was a member of the Beaufort Lions Club for over 45 years, and received the Melvin Jones Fellowship, Lionism's highest honor.
