ARTHUR EDSON ALLEN

Arthur Edson Allen, 72 died at his home, 229 Washington, at 3:30 a.m. Friday after a 22 months illness of complications. He had been a resident of Peru 19 years and was emplyed by James Pearcy.

He was born June 1, 1880 in Monrovia, Indiana, the son of William and Elizabeth (Hodson) Allen. He was married to Sarah Wrightsman in 1898. She died in 1938. In 1939 he was married to Grace Gordon Wrightsman, who survives.

Surviving also are three sons, William Allen, Osakloosa, Iowa; Vern Allen Earlham, and Charles Allen, Meadville, Penn.; four step-children, Frank Wrightsman of Des Moines, Alfred Wrightsman, Indianapolis, Indiana; Warren Wrightsman of Castleton, Indiana; and Mrs. George Swantner of Tocoma, Washington; one step-brother, Vernon Hobson of New Providence, Iowa; and step-sister, Mrs. Edna Bradford, Bridgeport, Indiana; 15 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A brother and sister are deceased.

Mr. Allen was a member of the Peru Christian Church.

Funeral services were held from the Drake-Flowers Funeral home Sunday, May 3 at 1:45 p.m. the Rev. Mahlon Morrow, of the Denver, officiating. Burial was in the Union Chapel Cemetery north of Indianpolis.
