Chester L. Allen, Knoxville
Chester Leroy Allen, 45, of Knoxville died of asphyxiation Sept. 30, 2000 at his home. The death was ruled a suicide.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Bybee and Davis Funeral Home in Knoxville. Burial was at Marysville Cemetery.
Chester Allen was born in Des Moines and had lived in the Hamilton area before moving to Knoxville. He worked at Brown Sanitation in Knoxville and had served in the Navy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Allen.
He is survived by his wife, Ann; three sons, Andy Van Dorn, Christopher Allen and John Allen, all of Knoxville; a daughter, Tara Allen of Knoxville; his mother, Hazel Cumings Johnson of Cheyenne, Wyo.; a sister, Christine Klein of Bussey; a stepbrother, Howard Johnson of Cheyenne, Wyo.; a stepsister, Sandy Magnus of Fallon, Nev.; his maternal grandmother, LaVere Cumings of Truro; and two grandchildren.
