∼Janice Lorene "Jan" Easterly, formerly of Lorenzo, Nebraska died Tuesday evening, May 20, 2014, at Highline Place in Littleton, CO.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 24 at 10:00 AM at the Peetz United Methodist Church in Peetz, Colorado with Rev. Jody Harless officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Sidney, Nebraska.
Jan was born July 14, 1930, the daughter of Claude and Erma (Maag) in Denver, Colorado. She moved to Peetz with her family in 1940, and graduated from Sterling High School in 1947. She attended college in Fort Collins, and taught school near Akron, CO, prior to her marriage.
In August 1950, she married Jack Easterly. Jan enjoyed her life as a farm wife in addition to gardening, cooking, music, and sewing. She was an active member in the Peetz United Methodist Church and UMW and taught Sunday school there. Jan was also a Girl Scout leader and Cub Scout leader for many years. She was involved in WIFE (Women Involved in Farm Economics), Helping Hand Garden Club, and Eastern Star.
Jan enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling with her husband to all 50 states and beyond. She and Jack square-danced with the Prairie Schooners.
Jan was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years.

There is no date of death on the headstone, however Greenwood Cemetery records show she dies 20 May 2014 and is buried in the Veterans 2 block, Lot 66.
