Rescarick Ayres was the young son of Alfred Ayres and Ann Eoff, natives of New Jersey. Alfred and Ann married in Greene County, Illinois Feb 20, 1840. Rescarick was born in Whitehall, Greene County, Illinois about 1849. He had siblings Charles H L Ayres, Mary A Ayres, Alfred Ayres, William Millard Ayres, Henrietta Ayres and Mary Ayres. Alfred Ayres, Sr, was a merchant in Whitehall. Rescarick died at the age of 5 years 16 days. He is buried in the Veterans of Foreign Wars cemetery also known as Lamborn Cemetery.
