Clarence Virgil Martin, 94, Forrest, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 31, 2008) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Colfax.
Mr. Martin was born July 10, 1914, in Strawn, the son of William E. and Hattie Mammen Martin. He married Marian L. Frederking on March 17, 1937, in Fairbury. She survives in Forrest.
Also surviving are two daughters, Joan (Orley) Plenert, Forrest, and Maxine Stoller, Fort Myers, Fla.; one son, Duane Martin, Krum, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Martin farmed near Strawn, retiring in 1982.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Chatsworth, and enjoyed golfing and playing euchre.
