New London, NH - Joseph F. Patrick, 76, of Tracy Road, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008 at Summercrest in Newport, NH. He was born in Batavia, NY on April 18, 1932, the son of Joseph and Counsel (Foriero) Petracca. He received a B.S. from Albany State, Albany, NY. Mr. Patrick earned a Master of Art and Teaching at Harvard and a Master of Science at Rensselear Polytechnic Institute. He was a physics teacher for 30 years in Pelham, NY, Weston, CT and Greenwich, CT. His passion was playing the trumpet. He also played the baritone horn for Kearsarge Community Band, Hopkinton Band, and the Upper Valley Band. He served in the US Army during Korea. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Parish in New London. Gardening, bridge, woodworking, tennis, golf, and travel were his hobbies. Serving others was important to him which showed with his volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity. He was an avid NY Yankee and Jets fan. Members of his family surviving include his wife of 50 years, Lorraine (Luca) Patrick of New London, NH; a daughter, Lisa P. Eckstein of New York City, NY; a son, David J. Patrick of Norwalk, CT; a granddaughter, Eliza Eckstein; a sister, Ann Bachorski of Conesus, NY; and 12 nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Fatima, 724 Main Street, New London with The Rev. Robert Biron, pastor, celebrant.
