He was born May 17, 1916, in Dallas, to Ernest Otto and Ethel Nora Corbin Stanglin, Sr. He moved to Atoka, Oklahoma, in 1920, and then moved back to Dallas in 1931. He was in the U.S. Army at the conclusion of World War II. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Edgewood. He was preceded in death by brother, Charlie L. Stanglin; and sister, Mary Burgin.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, John Edward, Jr. and Beverly Stanglin, Dallas, and Gerald M. and Alice Stanglin, Kilgore; daughter, Lueann Stanglin Bradford, Dallas; brother, Ernest Otto Sanglin, Jr., Fort Worth; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; former wife and caretaker, Wynona P. Stanglin, Canton.
Pallbearers will be W.L. "Tick" Miller, Allan Stanglin, Chris Bradford, Jeff Stanglin, Hugo Blacksone, Chuch Budford, Brad Smith and Brent Aston.
