WILMINGTON -- Susie Batson, born May 12, 1920, in Decatur, AL, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2010, at Davis Health Care Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Batson. She is survived by sons, Melvin (Carol) and Hollis (Carol). She is also survived by brothers Charley Arban (Carley) of Waynesboro, GA, J. C. Arban (Faye) of Hattiesburg, MS, Hollis Arban of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; sister, Cathryn Muir of Vancouver, WA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Susie was a charter member and ordained deacon of Ogden Baptist Church, where she served in many capacities. She deeply loved and cared for her church family as well as the many friends she had made over the years. We will all miss those hugs and "sweet smile."
The family would like to thank the staff of Davis Health Care Center for their love and support during her stay.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, in Ogden Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Duncan Futrelle and Rev. Vic Potter. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Susie was a charter member and ordained deacon of Ogden Baptist Church, where she served in many capacities. She deeply loved and cared for her church family as well as the many friends she had made over the years. We will all miss those hugs and "sweet smile."
