KINGSPORT, TN – Mattie Mae Culbertson, 102, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, at the Wexford House, Kingsport. She was born in Scott County, VA, daughter of the late Charlie & Edna Gillenwater Dingus. She was a member of Phillips Chapel Church in West Dante, VA, but attended Living Word Church of God in Gray, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Culbertson. She is survived by one daughter, Jewell Marshall of Kingsport; two sons, Robert D. Culbertson of Kingsport and Lloyd G. Culbertson of Miami; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mattie Mae Culbertson will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, in the Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, VA, with the Rev. Steve Guinn officiating. Committal services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery, leaving at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Pallbearers will be Eugene Marshall, Tracy Marshall, Derek Culbertson, Kenneth Culbertson, Larry Arnold and Stephen Bowen. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood.
