MRS. BESSIE BURR

WAYNE - The funeral for Mrs. Bessie Burr, 91, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Memorial Chapel, Belleville, the Rev. Loren Silsby officiating. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery, south of Wayne.

Mrs. Burr died Wednesday at Lander, Wyo.

She was born Jan. 24, 1891 at Wayne.

Surviving are a son, Thomas Burrr (sic), Deweese, Neb., two daughters, Maude Wlaschin, Deweese, Neb., and Mrs. Mary Lewis, Lander, Wyo.; a brother, Rev. Hebert (sic) Lilly, Payette, Idaho; three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Flynn, San Francisco, Calif., Jeanette Nixon, Paradise, Calif., Mrs. Connie Wilcox, Grand Island, Neb.; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Bessie Mae Burr, daughter of Herbert E. and Austa DeWolf Lilly, was born on January 24, 1891 at Wayne, and died on February 10, 1982, at Lander, Wyo., at the age of 91 years and 16 days.

She was united in marriage to O.V. Burr on June 16, 1908, and to this union seven children were born.

She lived in California for many years and taught adult education in Palo Alto from 1945 to 1954. She returned to Wayne, in later years to care for her father.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sons, William Oliver, O.V. (Spike), Dayton Maxwell (Max); one daughter, Mrs. Althea Marcine Hittner; one brother, Jack Lilly and one sister, Myrtle L.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mary Lewis of Lander, Wyo., Mrs. Maude Wlaschin of DeWeese (sic), Nebr., one son, Thomas Wayne Burr of Deweese, Nebr., three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Flynn of San Francisco, Calif., Mrs. Jeanette Nixon of Paradise, Calif., Mrs. Connie Wilcox of Grand Island, Nebr., one brother, Rev. Herbert Lilly of Payette, Idaho; 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Memorial Chapel of Belleville February 15 conducted by the Rev. Loren Silsby. Interment was made in Union Cemetery south of Wayne.
