Max Dayton Burr, son of O.V. and Bessie L. Lilly Burr, was born on September 26, 1917, at Rapids (sic), Nebr., and died at the Veterans hospital, Lincoln, Nebr., on May 5, at the age of 58 years, 7 months, and 9 days.

He received his education in the Ashland, Nebr., Public Schools. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific. He has lived in the Wayne Community the past twelve years.

He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers.

Survivors are, one daughter, Mrs. Sharon Alley of Imperial, Nebr., one son, Herbert Burr of El Dorado, his mother, Mrs. Bessie Burr of Wayne; one brother, Thomas W. Burr of Edgar, Nebr., three sisters, Mrs. Althea Hittner, Lincoln, Mrs. Maude Wlaschin of DeWitt, Nebr., Mrs. Mary Lewis of Alliance, Nebr., five grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at the Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Chapel with the Rev. Larry Dutton officiating.

Burial was at the Union cemetery (sic).
