Lucy M. Belknap was born 5 Apr 1873 in Williamston, Michigan to Abel Belknap and Marie Hart Belknap. Her mother Marie emigrated to Michigan from England, along with three of her brothers: Samuel Hart, Benjamin Hart, Jr. and James Hart, all of Williamston, Michigan.
Lucy's maternal grandparents were Benjamin Hart, Sr. and Lucy West Hart of Bottisham Lode, Cambridgeshire, England.
Her siblings were: Elmer J. Belknap (b 1868, d 1942), Frances "Franky" Geneva Belknap (b 1875, d 1958), and Sophronia "Frona" M. Belknap (McKane) (b 1877, d 1925)
Lucy married Burton Monroe Long (b 1863, d 1927) between 1906 and 1910. Burton was widower who had been married to Hattie May Dyer, who died in 1906. Burton and Hattie had 3 children: Leta May, Jennie Belle, and Hugh Burton. Lucy and Burton had no children.
Lucy was first cousin to my grandmother, Rose Mae Hart Kleiver. She died in Jan 1941 at abt age 68. Lucy was buried 24 Jan 1941.
