JACK WHITAKER, 70, of Memphis, retired owner of Yorkshire Cleaners, died Thursday at St. Francis Hospital after a long illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel with burial in Memorial Park. Whitaker was a member of Central Church, Windyke Country Club and Al Chymia Shrine Temple. He was a 1939 graduate of Humes High School and served in the Air Service Group Hedgewarged Squadron 315 during World War II. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Louise Crumby Whitaker; a daughter, Mrs. Linda Ann Coleman of Memphis; three sons, Richard C. Whitaker of Phoenix, Ariz., Jack A. Whitaker of Arlington and James W. Whitaker of Cordova; his mother, Mrs. Jessie A. Whitaker, and a sister, Mrs. Melba W. Baldwin, both of Memphis, and 11 grandchildren.
