Isabelle Wickliff was born on October 20, 1853, in Warsaw, Benton County, Missouri. When 19 years of age, she married Kenny Grace. She became a widow after fourteen years. When her husband died of pneumonia, leaving her with three children. After five years she married James Ethington, a widower with one son. To whom she became a real mother, loving him and rearing him as her own child. A number of years after Mr. Ethington passed away, she married Jacob Ackers, who preceded her in death many years. She was a staunch member of the Christian Church, and as long as her health permitted, was always active in its affairs.
Although she had been practically helpless for the past three years at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. H. McClendon, her death was a shock to her loved ones. While visiting in the home of her son, she was sitting in her room reading a newspaper, when her daughter-in-law, hearing a slight noise come from the room, entered to find she had suffered a stroke. She lost the power of speech, which she never regained, nor was she ever afterward able to recognize her relatives. The slender thread of life grew gradually weaker and she reached the end of her life’s journey.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Arcadia Kansas, Rev. G. W. Corporen officiating. Interment was made in the Sheffield Cemetery. Charles Grace of Arcadia, Kas., and Mrs. H. H. McClendon of Montrose. Two children preceded her in death, Dora, who died in young womanhood, and Isaac, who died in infancy.
She is also survived by one stepson, J. H. Ethington, 21 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. All her children and grandchildren, Excepting four, attended her funeral. Six grandsons were her pallbearers. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Ellen Colman of Orrick, Mo.

Gravesite Details
The picture of the stone is in Brasher Cemetery but Isabelle is not buried with her 3rd husband Jacob. Also, the memorial stone has she was born in 1852 but the obituary says 1853.
