GERALD DONALD CONDON

WADE - Gerald D. Condon, 69, died June 29, 1999, at a Presque Isle hospital. He was born May 3, 1930, in Fort Fairfield, the son of George and Laura (Butler) Condon.

He attended Mapleton Schools and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and had been employed in the sign maintenance and instillation business for many years. He was a founding member of the Aroostook Snowmobile Club and also a member of the Aroostook Salmon Club, American Legion Post No. 0048 in Washburn, Presque Isle Lodge of the Elks, B.P.O.E. No. 1954; and a life member of the Hayward-Frazier Post 2599 VFW, the Castle Hill Preservation Society and a past member of the Aroostook River Fish and Game Club in Ashland. Many organizations benefited from his talents as a sign maker for which he donated selflessly, including the Boy Scouts of America.

He is survived by his wife, Vella (McHatten) Condon of Wade; a son Herman Condon and his wife Patricia of Castle Hill; two daughters, Joyce (Condon) Boynton and her husband R. Michael of Jacksonville, Fla. And Kerry Lee (Condon) Kenney of Castle Hill; five grand-children, Kara Condon, Brad S. Kenney, Jamie L. Kenney, Metthew Gerald Boynton and Mark A. Condon; a brother, Irving Condon and his wife, Priscilla of Mapleton; two sisters, Fern MacDonald of Passadumkeag and Marjorie Kneeland and her husband, Harold of Olarrion; a sister-in-law, Annelise Condon of Topeka, Kansas. He was predeceased by two brothers, Herman E. Condon and George Condon, Jr.
