Henry George Passmore, son of Walter and Adelaide Passmore, was born at Hollis, on May 26, 1920, and died suddenly at his home on May 10 at the age of 55 years and 11 months.

His early life was spent in Cloud county, then, except for his years in the armed services, the rest was lived in Republic county, near Talmo. He attended the rural schools, then attended high school in Concordia. On October 7, 1942 he was united in marriage to Mary Goodwin at Salina. To this union four children were born.

On Sept. 9, 1942 he enlisted in the armed services of our country. He served three years as a radar technician, and except for three months, served overseas. He was discharged on Nov. 16, 1945.

Henry George was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Belleville; The American Legion of Belleville; Eagles Lodge of Belleville; and belonged to the Order of Masons in Cuba, Belleville, and Concordia.

He leaves to mourn his death his wife, Mary of the home; his children, Mrs. Raymond (Kathleen) Splichal of Munden, Staff Sgt. Henry G. Passmore III, Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany, Timothy J. Passmore of Sacremento, Calif.; and Robert E. Passmore of Concordia. His grandchildren, Patrick and Lisa Splichal of Munden, and Kelly and Sean Passmore of Germany.

Also surviving are his father, Walter E. Passmore of Concordia, two brothers, Billie Passmore of Concordia, Dr. Jack Passmore of El Cajon, Calif., and one sister, Mrs. Sandra Taylor of Mundelein, Ill.

He was community minded and served on a number of boards, school, cemetery, draft, township, FHA, and was on bicentennial committee.

He was employed at Cloud Ceramics for over 16 years. He especially enjoyed farming and working with cattle. His spare time was spent as an electrician, carpenter and mechanic.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 14, from the United Methodist church in Talmo, with Reverend Glenn Claycamp officiating.

Burial was in Union cemetery at Wayne.
