Rose Marie Consolver was first of three children born to Lawrence and Edna (Dougherty) Consolver on Feb. 10, 1936 in Des Moines, IA.
She attended grade school at Polk Hill School and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1955.
On Feb. 15, 1957 she became Mrs. Ralph Shivers. They were married by Alex Grossnickle in the old church building on the corner with the reception at the Coliseum across the street.
To this union 5 children were added:

1959-Keith Allen
1961-Kurt Douglas
1963-Karla Jean
1965-Kenton Ray
Rosie was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker.
She was very active member at Rising Sun where she was involved in VBS, Sunday School, J.O.Y. and many other activities. Her summer vacation was either cooking at Central Iowa Bible Camp or traveling with the Teen Choir. She was a demonstrator at the Iowa State Fair's Variety Building for many years.
Sewing, crafts and tole painting gave her a lot of joy and she was very gifted in each area, an avid reader in her spare time.
Work outside the home included: owning and operating Rosie's Henhouse, Townsend Industries, Activities Director at Altoona Manor, teaching for the 4H Council and Des Moines Adult Education classes. She retired from Hancock Fabrics in 1998.
She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Ralph Ray Shivers, her mother, Edna Consolver, brother Larry of Arizona, and sister Debra Cooper of Des Moines; Three sons, Keith, Kurt and Kent, all of Altoona and daughter, Karla of California.
Eight Grandchildren: Koby, Kray, Joey, Annie, Teigha, Mercy, Grant, Brett, and nieces, Joell, Josett and their families, and nephew Aaron.
Preceding her in death are her father, Lawrence Consolver, son Kenneth Lee, grandson Samuel Lawrence, nephew Jason and niece Diane.
She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
