Unity - Eli Vickery Cornforth, 79, died Thursday night, December 21, 1961, at a Waterville hospital after several years illness. He was born in Unity December 6, 1882, the son of Otis and Olive (Vickery) Cornforth.

He attended Unity schools and for several years was employed as a clerk in Farwell Bros. Store in Thorndike. For many years he was the manager of the Whiting Creamery in Unity. He retired 11 years ago and has since resided with his niece, Miss Gertrude Moulton, of Unity.

He was a member of Unity Masonic Lodge and Josiah Drummond Chapter, OES, of Thorndike. He was also a member of St. George Royal Arch Chapter of Masons in Liberty and the Invictus Lodge, IOOF of Unity.

His niece is his only survivor.

Services will be today at 2 p.m. at the Thorndike Congregational Church with the Rev. Thomas Longstaff, pastor of the Unity Union church, officiating. Burial will be in the Farwell Cemetery in Unity next spring.
