Eugene A. Brunsman, 84 514 7th Ave., died Saturday evening at the Floyd County Hospital.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated for Gene Brunsman at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Church. Rev. Roger Rethamel will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. The parish scripture service will be 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Hauser Funeral Home followed by the rosary recited by the Knights of Columbus. Military honors will be conducted at graveside by the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and World War I Veterans. Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home after noon on Monday.

Eugene Anthony Brunsman was born Oct. 4, 1898, at Alton. He received his education in the Alton schools and on April 26, 1921, he and Lucille Kirby were married at Oelwein. She died in 1965. On Feb. 1, 1969, he and Dorothy Munshower were married at Charles City. He was a retired Oliver Corp. employee having worked for Oliver 39 years of which 20 were spent as foundry superintendent. He was a veteran of World War I having served in the Rainbow Division in France, and was a fifty year member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and the Oliver Management.

Survivors include his wife, Dorthy of Charles City; two sons, Louis of Charles City and Eugene, Jr. of Bolingbrook, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Wade (Helen) Heddleston of Branson, MO; a stepdaughter, Jean Troge of Charles City; and a step-son, Ronald Munshower. There are 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, a son, John, who was killed in WW II, a brother, and a sister.
