LeRoy Banks Alward, Jr.
LeRoy B. Alward, Jr. age 86 of Clinton, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 13, 2008 at the Deepwater Baptist Church with burial in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton. Family will receive friends one hour before the service on Saturday at the church. Family suggests contributions to the 4-H of Henry County and may be left at the funeral home. LeRoy was born in Camden, New Jersey. He was in the United States Army serving in W.W. II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Conflict retiring in l976. He lived in Alaska for thiry years. He was a member of the Northeast Baptist Church, Clinton and attended the Deepwater Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Benton County Elks Lodge, the American Legion and V.F.W. both in Clinton and the D.A.V.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Roberta Alward of the home; one son Harold L. Alward and wife, Cris of Pomme De Terre, Missouri, and two daughters, Sandra Dudley and husband, Spencer of Las Vegas, Nevada and Charlotte Paynter and husband, Wade of Clinton, Missouri as well as six grandchildren, Aaron Crust, Jacob Crust, Michelle Wamsett, Cody Mayle, Patrick Paynter and Zack Paynter and one great grandaughter, Violet Wamsett.
