Donald H. Hurst, 82, died July 11, 2007, at Hutchinson Hospital.

He was born on Nov. 23, 1924, in Nowata, Okla., the son of Frank "Dugan" and Emma Elizabeth Richards Hurst. He was a longtime resident of Hutchinson. He was raised in Hollow Pool outside of Buhler. He had attended Buhler schools. He retired from Cessna in 1981 and had also been a pastor for several churches. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was of the Pentecostal faith.

On March 24, 1946, he married Madeline Graber in Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: three sons, Steven and wife Virlinda, Burrton, Dr. Daniel and wife Abby, Hutchinson, and Mark and wife Shelly, Euless, Texas; a daughter, Cheryl Dunlap and husband Matthew, Wylie, Texas; a sister, Clara Dee Chappell and husband Don, Burrton; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: a son, Donald Ray; three brothers, Archie, Lewis and Phillip; and two sisters, Clella Mae and Marjorie Lee.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Arlington Cemetery with Military graveside honors conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
