He was born in Brechan, Scotland, the son of David and the late Jean Gugnid Adams and came to this country 52 years ago. He was a carpenter and had been a resident of this city 36 years. He was a member of Asbury M. E. church and secretary of its official board 25 years, a member of the Ushers' union, Long Branch lodge 77, Odd Fellows and its financial secretary for a number of years, a member of Long Branch Masonic lodge, 78, the executive board of the Y.M.C.A., a Boy Scout executive in this city and a member of the carpenter's union.
Surviving are his father, who resides in Belleville, his wife, Leona West Adams, a son, Kenneth D., and two grandchildren, Elden K. and Jean Marie. Also two brothers, Arthur, Belleville, James A., Newark and a sister, Mrs. Mary Mattson, Lakewood.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 wit the Rev. Marvin R. Guice, Asbury M. E. church, officiating. Interment in charge of Willis A. Woolley will be in Greenlawn cemetery, West Long Branch.
