Also known as Herman Frederick Reemsnyder (Riemenschneider). Born 1742, date unknown, in Altoona Germany. Arrived near Philadelphia, Pa around 18 years of age and entered trade of cabinet making. Moved to Chester Co, and then Lancaster Co, dates unknown. Served in the Revolutionary War under the original spelling of his last name, Riemenschneider. Married Margaret Anne Musser and had 9 children. He also followed the work of building houses and farming. Died August 8, 1808.
