James was born Dec. 7, 1926, in Clairette to the late J.W. "Roy" and Evalena Miller Littleton. He married Marjorie Knighton on June 28, 1958, in Angleton. He served during World War II in the European theater as a combat engineer in the U.S. Army. James was a member of First Baptist Church and retired from Bell Helicopter.
He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Melissa Littleton; brothers, Grady, Glen, LeRoy, Elvis, Clinton and Winfred Littleton; and sisters, Delma Golightly and Nona Chambers.
Survivors: His wife, Marjorie; son, Barry; daughter and son-in-law, Cyndee and David Baldridge, all of Stephenville; grandchildren, Ross, Abby and Sawyer; and several nieces and nephews.
