Lawrence Ronald Cox
Lawrence Ronald Cox, 78, of Okeechobee, Fla., and formerly of Terre Haute, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, in Hamrick House, Hospice of Okeechobee. He worked at the Air National Guard in Terre Haute, as an instrument technician, for 30 years. He was born Sept. 15, 1929, in Muncie. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen "Joan" Cox.Survivors include his companion, Edna Cornelius of Okeechobee; his son, George R. Cox of Brazil; two daughters, Jerry Mundell of Lake Placid, Fla., and Marcia Neice and husband Robert of Terre Haute; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He had been a resident of Okeechobee for the past 24 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Moose, the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Fraternal Order of Eagles.Memorial services are 3 p.m. Sunday at the American Legion post, located at 1015 S. Forest Ave., in Brazil. Buxton Funeral Home, 110 N.E. Fifth St., Okeechobee, assisted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Okeechobee, P.O. Box 1548, Okeechobee, FL, 34873.
