Obituary

JOHN GURA

John Gura, 58, of 457 Pratt street, died yesterday morning at the Meriden hospital following a brief illness.

Mr. Gura, who came here from Poland 35 years ago, was employed by the Miller company. He was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus church, and a member of the St. Stanislaus Kostki society and Holy Rosary society.

Besides his wife, Mrs. Magdalena Gura, he is survived by ten children, Francis, Stanley, Anthony, Theodore and Zygmont Gura, Mrs. Helen Luaczyk of Gardner, Mass., Mrs. Anna Pociecha of Jamaica, N.Y., and Misses Mary, Celia, and Albina Gura of this city; several grandchildren, and two sisters and a brother in Poland, and a sister, Mrs. Carolina Swiatek and a brother, Stanley Gura of Meriden.

The funeral will be held at 8:30 o`clock from the home, 457 Pratt street, and at 9 o`clock at St. Stanislaus church, where a solemn high mass of requiem will be celebrated. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Stanislaus cemetery.

Obituary

The funeral of John Gura of 457 Pratt street who died last Wednesday morning in the Meriden hospital after a brief illness was held this morning at 8:30 o`clock from his late residence and at 9 o`clock at Stanislaus church where Rev. Paul Bartlewski celebrated high mass of requiem and separate masses were read at the side altars by Rev. Felix Papciak and Rev. Dr. Peter Pietras of New Britain.

The church was filled to capacity by the many friends and relatives of the deceased as well as large representatives from the St. Stanislaus Kostki and the Holy Rosary society of which Mr. Gura was an active member. During the requiem mass Professor Stanley Klenk, church organist played Walski`s Requiem mass.

Burial took place in the family plot in the St. Stanislaus cemetery with Father Bartlewski officiating at the interment.

Pall bearers, members of the above societies, included the following: Ignace Awdziewicz, John Sieracki, Frank Szajdek, John Pasinski, George Curylo, Frank Paszenski.
