CLARENCE EBELING
Clarence Ebeling, 74, of Rt. 1, Maribel, died Sunday morning at home. Funeral
services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church,
Town of Gibson. The Rev. Percy Damrow will officiate and burial will be in
Mishicot Public Cemetery.
Mr. Ebeling was born April 3, 1899 in the Town of Cooperstown, son of the late
Henry and Wilhelmine Zeddies Ebeling. He married Martha Rehbein June 15, 1921
in the Town of Gibson. He was president of Maribel Grain Co. for 46 years and
was on the steering committee of Lake to Lake Dairy Cooperative. He helped promote
the organization of the Lutheran High School, Manitowoc. Mr. Ebeling also was a
charter member of the Maribel Sportsman Club and had been president of St. John
Evangelical Lutheran Church for many years. His wife preceded him in death
October 9, 1972.
Survivors include a son, Frederick and a daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Carol) Schultz
of Rt. 1, Maribel; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Johnson of Green Bay; nine grandchildren;
two great granddaughters. A brother and sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Knutson Funeral Home, Denmark after 3 p.m. Tuesday and after
11 a.m. Wednesday at the church until the time of service. A memorial fund in his
memory has been established for Manitowoc Lutheran High School.
