Mr. Cramer, 43, formerly of Winona, died Thursday (Sept. 11, 2008) at the Red Wing Health Center in Red Wing.
Thomas William Cramer was born Oct. 5, 1964, in Wayne, Mich. He attended schools in Michigan, New Jersey and Winona, and was a 1984 graduate of Winona Senior High School. He was handicapped with muscular dystrophy but remained active in the Winona community for many years.
Mr. Cramer was active in organizations related to special needs. He was a member of the commission for Region 10 Quality Assurance and chaired the nominating committee. He was a VAR committee member and completed VOICE assessment reviews. He also presented at various conferences, traveling to St. Cloud, Minn., and Chicago.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Don and Jane Cramer of Winona; two brothers, Allen (Wendy) of Lakewood, Fla., and Keith (Lisa) of Pine Island; and special friend, Nancy Knopp of Winona. Other survivors include two nieces, Sara and Anna Cramer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joanne; a brother, Matthew; and grandparents, William and Evelyn Cramer, and Arthur and Margaret Ellis.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday in Visitation Commons at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Memorials may be directed to the family for muscular dystrophy research.
