John C. Bernt, 80, resident of the Spalding vicinity nearly all his life, died
Thursday in a hospital at Ord. He had been admitted to the hospital Tuesday.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning in St. Michael's Catholic Church at Spalding. Burial was in St. Michael's Cemetery.

Mr. Bernt was born July 27, 1883 in Platte County. He came with his parents to Greeley County when he was only six months old and lived the remainder of his life on the same farm northwest of Spalding.

Survivors include six sons, Edwin of Flint, Mich., John and Patrick of Spalding, Raymond and Mike of Greeley, and Leonard of Primrose; and four daughters, Mrs. Al Funk of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Edwin Sharp of Moses Lake, Wash., Mrs. Larry Hust of Greeley, and Miss Anna Bernt at home.
