NAMPA--- Graveside services for Hazel Kathleen Block, 72, of Nampa Route 5, will be conducted at Kohlerlawn Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Monday by Geroge M. Sargent of the Jehovah's Witnesses. Interment will be directed by Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa. There will be no cortege.

Mrs. Block was born Jan. 15, 1901, in Wathena, Kan., where she was reared and educated. She taught school for a time. She was married Sept. 1, 1922, in Davenport, Neb., to Chris Block. They farmed in Nebraska until 1936, when they moved to Twin Falls. They lived near Nampa since 1955. Mr. Block died earlier this month.

She attended the Jehovah's witnesses.

Surviving are two sons, King of Ames, Iowa, and Chad of Ridgefield Park, J.J.; three brothers, Percy Milbourne of Long Beach, Calif., Ben Milbourne of Hollywood, Calif., and Archi Milbourne of San Jose, Calif.; three sisters, Violet Hagler of Sutherlin Ore., Rachel Glass of San Jose, and Mrs. Don Foote of Hugo, Okla.; eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly.

Mrs. Chris Block, 72, of Nampa, Idaho, died on Wednesday of last week just one week after the death of her husband, Chris.
She was the former Hazel Melbourne, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Elmer Melbourne, formerly of Davenport. Mrs. Block was a teacher and at one time had taught in the Abdal School.
She was a sister-in-law of Peter Block, Mrs. Christine Hanson and Mrs. Pete Nielsen of Superior, Nebraska. Survivors also include two sons, King Block of Ames, Iowa, and Chad Block of New York City.
A daughter, Beverly, preceded her in death.
Funeral services and burial were at Nampa.

Anniversary patio supper hosted for Nampa couple

Don Sullivan of Nampa and friends hosted an anniversary patio supper for Mr. and Mrs. Chris Block of Nampa, in commemoration of the couple's 50th wedding anniversary.
Those attending the dinner included Sullivan, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Duro, Dr. and Mrs. William Meyer, Mrs. And Mrs. Wallie Pidgeon, Betty Genton, Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Enberg, all of Nampa and Mrs. And Mrs. J. Stacey and Mr. and Mrs. T.V. White of Boise.
The former Hazel Milbourne was a school teacher at Superior, Neb., when she met Chris Block at a box social. They were married Sept. 1, 1922, in Davenport, Neb., at the home of Mrs. Block's parents, Dr. and Mrs. P.E. Milbourne.
Moving from Nebraska to Twin Falls in 1935, they lived there with their three children, Mrs. Beverly Sullivan, now deceased, King Block of Ames, Iowa, and Chad Block of Richfield Park, New Jersey. They have lived in Nampa for about 12 years.
They have eight grandchildren.
