Death of Luther B. Adams
Luther B. Adams, a native and for many years a resident here, died at his home on Central Street after a short illness of Bright's disease although he had been in failing health for some months. He was the eldest son of James and Mary Whitney Adams and was born February 16, 1829. He Married October 13, 1850, Mary B., daughter of Jonathan Samson. His wife died about five years ago. He is survived by one brother, James W. who resides in Brooklyn, Penn on a farm. Mr. Adams was a member of the building committee of Fairbanks Memorial Hall and for some years was one of the cemetery commissioners of this town. He was with his father in the Moreceo Business where now is the mill of the estate of the late C A Jefts. After the great freshet of 1860, when the Nashua reservoir ran out, Mr. Adams went into business where now is the remains of the old dam near the mill. He was in charge of chair shops in Baltimore, Columbus, Ohio and other places, for some years he was supt for the Boston Chair Co. at their shops in town. He worked in 14 different states he once said. He was one of the charter members and founders of Nauteag Lodge IOOF which order he joined in Rutland, Vt where he belonged to the encampment. He was also a member of the Knights of Pythias.
Funeral Services will be held this afternoon at his late residence. On Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock local Odd Fellows will attend in a body.

The will of the late Luther B. Adams of Ashburnham was filed. He bequeathed to his brother James W. Adams or his heirs by right of representation, his jewelry, watches, silverware, sewing machines, clothing, books, pictures, tools, cathedral clock, musical instruments and music and the rest and remainder of his property of whatever name or nature, now or hereafter acquired and wherever situated. The will has the following clause: "I have intentionally omitted to mention in the provisions of this will the names of all other relatives." Moses P. Greenwood of Ashburnham was named as executor.
