Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshall, with Rev. Douglas A. Dubisar officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery at Saline City. Memorials may be made to The Lutheran Hour Ministries or American Brain Tumor Association.
Born Dec. 10, 1936, in Saline County, she was the daughter of the late Ben Kruger and Olinda Borgman Kruger. On June 11, 1961, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Saline City, she married Richard H. Blumhorst, who preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1998. She had lived in Saline County her entire life and was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. She was an elementary school teacher for many years, having taught in the Brunswick School District for over 20 years. She was a 1954 graduate of Marshall High School and received both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree in education. She was a member of Missouri State Teachers Association.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Stuewe and her husband, Kevin, of Rose Hill and Sandra Blumhorst of Marshall; three grandchildren, Sarah Stuewe, Eric Stuewe and Andrew Stuewe; one sister, Doris Landreth of Marshall; two brothers, Kenneth Kruger of Marshall and Vernon Kruger of Warrensburg; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence Kruger and Harold Kruger.
