Ernest Ray Osman was the son of Albert Franklin Osman and Mary Emma Curry. He married Edna Florence Kerr, daughter of Samuel Craig Kerr and Sarah Emma Phillips, on April 12, 1910, in New Castle, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. He was called Ern when he was married to Emma. Ern and Emma divorced and she married Clarence LeRoy Curry, Ern's maternal uncle. Ern and Emma had one daughter, Irene Emma (1911-1972). Irene lived in Michigan with her mother and married first Paul Terry; second Milton Chappelle.

Ern (now known as Ray) married second to a widow with four children, Mary "Mamie" Abigail Wherry (nee Anderson), on November 10, 1914. They had two children: Herbert LeRoy Osman (1920-1981) and Margaretta Laverne (1923-2000) [married first Jack Hogue; 2nd Audley McFadden].

Ernest Ray Osman, 62, 803 Tidball avenue, Grove City, formerly of New Brighton, died in Grove City hospital this morning at 3:10 o`clock following a sudden heart attack. Born in DuBois on March 13, 1892, Mr. Osman was a son of the late Albert and Mary Emma Curry Osman. He was employed at the Pennsylvania George Junior Republic school for the past five and a half years. He was a member of the Church of God, New Brighton and a veteran of World War I. Surviving are his widow, Mary A. Anderson Wherry Osman and the following children, Albert D. Wherry, New Brighton; Elmer H. Wherry, Grove City; Mrs. Leona Patton, Beaver Falls; Robert F. Wherry, New Brighton; Herbert L. Osman, New Brighton; Mrs. Irene Terry, Detroit, Mich. and Mrs. Marguerita L. Hogue, Grove City; three sisters, Mrs. May Manning, Steubenville, Ohio; Mrs. Audrey Taylor, DuBois and Mrs. Emma Miller in Florida; 2 brothers, George Osman, New Brighton and Howard Osman, McKees Rocks; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends are being received in the Cunningham Funeral home, Grove City until Friday noon. The body will then be taken to the George Junior Republic chapel until 11 o`clock Saturday morning when it will be removed to the Church of God, New Brighton.
