Ella Findley Allen was born on March 24th, 1882 in the now extinct town of Garrison, in Pottawatomie County, Kansas, to Robert Gibson Allen, [of Monmouth, Illinois] and Eliza (Daggett) Allen, [of Rochester, New York]. She and her parents immigrated to Oregon and she met Frank Ackerman, a native Oregonian [b.1885] who had a farm in Suver, a small town North of Jefferson, in Polk County, Oregon. They married in about 1912 and were blessed with a daughter, Frances I., in 1918, per the 1920 U.S.Census. As of 1930, the Ackermans now had two children, both of them girls. Isabella Frances was now 12 yrs. old and Barbara was 8 years of age. Ella had been diagnosed with breast cancer on June 4th, 1929 and, although she had had radical surgery, it had spread throughout her body and was found in her liver as well, when she died from the dreaded disease on May 27, 1930. She was buried at Riverside Cemetery in Albany, Linn County, Oregon.
Frank remarried a few years later to Elizabeth Hall, who also preceeded him in death. Frank lived until August of 1973 when he died at the age of 88 years. He is buried next to Ella at Riverside Cemetery in Albany, Linn Co., Oregon, USA. [Elizabeth (Hall) Ackerman is buried at the Masonic Cemetery in Albany, Linn County, Oregon, USA.]. May they all Rest In Eternal Peace.
