He was born in Goffstown on March 30, 1949, the son Robert L. and Photine (Polites) Hines.
He was a graduate of Manchester Central High School and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Mr. Hines had been employed with the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years. He was an avid fisherman and bowler and enjoyed participating in sports.
The family includes his wife of 22 years, Patricia A. (Zela) Hines of Weare; one son, Eric M. Martel of Goffstown; one daughter, Rebeca L. Hines of Weare; two sisters, Helen Morse and Stella Dlubac, both of Concord; three brothers, James B. Hines of Raymond, Nicholas Hines of Goffstown, and Richard Hines of Manchester; and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
IN HIS LIFE: He had two grandchildren, Dylan Martel and Brandon Martel, both of Goffstown. He was predeceased by a brother, Stephen J. Hines, in 1999, and his mother, Photine Hines, in 1990.
SERVICES: Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in Cain & Janosz Funeral Home, 74 Brook St., corner of Pine Street, Manchester.
The funeral service is Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
