Co. Kentucky. He was the son of William and
Mary (Terry) Calder. A laborer and farmer, he
worked at Sandige's store in Eubank and USS
Fertilizer Plant in Science Hill.He was of
the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his wife,Celestia "Tess"
Singleton Calder, whom he married Sept. 28,
1935; a son, Clifford Calder Science Hill;
three daughters, Laverne (Harold) Whiles
Science Hill, Edith (Jack) Hall, Somerset,
and Ann (Glen) Mullins, Eubank; a brother,
Victor Calder, Circleville, Ohio;16 grand-
children; 28 great grandchildren, 8 step-
great grandchildren 8 great great grand-
children and 4 step great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a
daughter, Rojeane Cromer, 4 brothers Claude,
Curtis, Walter and Raymond Calder. 5 sisters,
Gertie Hargis, Dorthy York, Marie Sweet,
Sadie Anderson and Mattie Calder; one grand
daughter Sherri Mullins; and grandparents;
John Thomas and Sarah (Young) Calder.
A funeral service was held at Morris &
Hislope funeral home with Bro. David
Muse and Bro.Carson Atwood officiating.
Burial was in Science Hill Cemetery.
