Glenn Elbridge Breckner, 76, Strafford, died peacefully in his home on Wednesday, September 17, 2008. Glenn was born on May 31, 1932, in Kim, Colo., to Harvey and Ella Breckner. He was a graduate of Mtn. Grove High School. At 18, he joined the Navy, and served on a destroyer for four years during the Korean War. He retired from Sweetheart Cup in 1989. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Betty Ann White; two brothers; and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Janice Breckner; his brother, Owen Breckner; his sister, Alice Riley; his sons, Mark Breckner, Glenn Breckner and Doug Breckner; his daughters, Debbie Breckner, Kay Riley, Melody Rhoads, Melinda Gregory, Lori Riemenschneider, Julie Davis and Carla Carter; 21 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 20, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with Pastor Ken Hull officiating. Burial will be in Bass Chapel Cemetery, Strafford.
