He was born December 5, 1954 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Patrick H. and Marion (Galvin) Larney.
He was raised in Westport, Conn., and was a graduate of Staples High School in 1973. He attended Paul Smith's College in New York and graduated from UNLV in 1977.
He was the food service director for Raymond Schools for the past 11 years.
He was currently serving on Raymond's ethics committee, and was past chairman and vice chairman of that committee.
He was very instrumental in starting the Raymond High School football team. He was current president of Friends of Raymond Football.
He coached youth soccer, baseball, softball, and basketball. He was active with Boy Scouts of America Troop 100.
He completed a continuing education program on-line through Southern New Hammpshire University for business management.
Family members include his wife, Donna Larney of Raymond; one daughter, Meaghan Larney of Raymond; two sons, Sean Larney and Ryan Larney, both of Raymond; one sister, Margaret King of Lake Mary, Fla.; two brothers, Michael Larney of New Jersey, and Raymond Larney of Andover, Mass.; and eight nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond.
