Funeral services for Mr. Guy Spradley, of Carthage, were held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 31, at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Herman Bagley officiating.

Burial was held at the Masonic Graveside at Reeves Cemetery.

Mr. Spradley, 76, died Wednesday, July 29, at his residence.

Born May 15, 1911 in Panola County, he was the son of John Ranson and Sally M. Foshee Spradley. He had been back in Panola County for 18 years after living in Shreveport. Mr. Spradley was a member of the Westview Christian Church in Shreveport. He was also a member of the Queensboro Masonic Lodge #418 in Shreveport. Mr. Spradley was a retired operator for Atlas Processing Company in Shreveport.

Survivors include his wife: Myrtle Lucille Taylor Spradley of Reeves Community; one daughter: Jean Rodgers of Dickinson; one brother: Johnny Spradley of Carthage; one sister: Bonnie Thomas of Reeves Community; two granddaughters: Sharon Hicks of Pasadena; Sandy Roberson of Dickinson; and three great-grandsons: Christopher and Travis Hicks of Pasadena, and Jay Roberson of Dickinson.

Pallbearers were Timmy Spradley, Willie Spradley, Sherman Spradley, Charles Taylor, Douglas Willis, and Johnny Ray Spradley.
